SAFEASSIGN

SafeAssign is a plagiarism detection and prevention tool used by students and faculty to assist with academic integrity. Your instructor may choose to activate SafeAssign on some written assignments within Blackboard. If SafeAssign is available for an assignment, students simply submit their work using these instructions and then review their originality report.

This tool can be set by faculty so that students can submit a draft of their assignment prior to the due date allowing students to check their own work before officially submitting the assignment. Faculty interested in activating SafeAssign an a written assignment can find instructions here.

NOTE: If you allow students to submit a draft of an assignment prior to final submission, faculty must remove any submitted drafts by clearing the attempt so students can upload their final paper.

Please watch the video below to learn how SafeAssign can be activated on an assignment.

Learn more about SafeAssign and how to read the Originality Report by reviewing Blackboard’s resources.
