Online Course Support
Writing Center

The Writing Center’s mission is to coach undergraduate and graduate students in all stages of the writing process through interactive, collaborative, and individualized online or in person sessions. Our goal is to help students become more effective, confident, life-long writers through critical thinking, self-observation, and application of sound writing principles and strategies.

We offer 40-minute online or in person consultations about writing and critical thinking, and students are allowed to make up to two 40-minute consultations per week. These consultations take the form of conversations on the topics you’d like to address: for example, developing a thesis statement, developing your ideas, organizing your argument, citing sources, or working on mechanics. Please note, however, that we will not "fix" your paper for you: we are here to provide you with the tools to improve your own writing. We are not editors, but teachers.
